5 Signs That Indicate You Are Ready For A New Mattress
You can’t compromise on the quality of your mattress. If you’re waking up in pain, tossing and turning all night, or moving uncomfortably an hour into your Netflix-and-chill sessions, it’s time to replace your mattress. The following five signs indicate that you need to re-evaluate your sleeping situation and pick up a new mattress.
Prominent Sagging
Sagging is the most obvious sign that a mattress needs to be changed. It’s also a condition that affects all mattress types over time, as springs degrade, memory foam softens, and fibers in compress – all of which contribute to sagging. Even slight sags of 1-2 inches should not be ignored because they can suggest a lack of support in your body’s most vulnerable parts. Do not wait for a crater in the center of your bed to form.
The Structure of Memory Foam
Memory foam is meant to “remember” your body and sleeping position, but only to a limited extent. The foam should mainly return to its standard form after you get out of bed. Memory foam’s cellular structure breaks down with time, becoming softer and losing its ability to bounce again. It’s time to replace your memory foam mattress if you wake up with a body impression that lasts more than two inches or if the impression is deeper than two inches.

Memory foam mattress owners should also be aware if their mattress gets too hard or too soft. If you keep memory foam in a tiny area, it will get hard over time, and if you keep it in a warm atmosphere, it will become soft with time. This change in stiffness might significantly affect your comfort.

Lumps in your mattress may appear as padding in different areas. And because of the unequal density, you may not be supported where you need to be. It might also result in painful pressure points. Lumps are more common in lower-quality mattresses, but they can also appear in high-end mattresses that have reached the end of their lives.
Allergies
If you sneeze when you get close to the bed or wake up feeling stuffy, it’s time to inspect your mattress. Most mattresses can accumulate allergens over time, including mold, mildew, and dust mites. If you are allergic to certain irritants, your mattress will trigger an allergic reaction. Consider hypoallergenic materials like wool or latex when shopping for a new mattress.
